Today -25 degrees and next night predicted -30 degrees. Now the ice is getting thicker for sure. After the weekend the weather is getting a bit warmer and then we start making the ice route.

Haukivesi lake froze 5.1. but the thickness of the ice is still less than 5 cm and the ice is covered with snow so we have no plans to make any skating trips the coming weekend. Fortunately the weather forecasts predicts -15 degrees for the weekend. That means that the ice is getting thicker all the time :)

The COVID-19 epidemic has not affected the guidelines of renting canoes and kayaks. There is lots of space on the lakes and at the moment it is also very quiet on all camp sites. We are open as normal and you can rent equipment in Oravi and in Kolovesi, Kirkkoranta. The rental shop in Oravi is open in May every day 9-17. If you want to paddle in Kolovesi you need to book in advance. All rental equioment is available online.
