Restaurants and food
Along the Oravi Canal, you’ll find two unique restaurants in charming historic settings: Ruukinranta, located in an old ironworks area, and Makasiiniravintola, set in a 20th-century atmosphere.
Both spots serve up flavors from around the world and local producers, spiced up with entertainment like dancing, karaoke, and live music.
Restaurant Ruukinranta
Right by the Oravi Canal, in the heart of the old ironworks setting, you’ll find Restaurant Ruukinranta.
Ruukinranta offers an à la carte menu featuring local fish, game, wild mushrooms, and fresh bread from a nearby bakery. On the spacious summer terrace, you can enjoy the canal views—perhaps with a classic pizza and a cold drink in hand. The à la carte kitchen is open from May Day until the end of September.
During autumn and winter, Ruukinranta opens for groups by reservation. Upcoming events are announced separately in the event calendar.

Makasiini
What used to be a village storehouse from the early 1900s is now a cozy summer restaurant.
