Winter hiking route from Oravi to Linnansaari is now marked

There is no more snow on the ice of Haukivesi, and in many places there is now quite good ice for tour skating. We have now marked the route from Oravi to Linnansaari for 5 km and if you stay on that route you know that the ice thickness is at least 15 cm and safe. The ice is uneven in places, so it is easier to go by kick spark than skates. An experienced skater can do well with long-bladed touring skates. Skates and kick sparks are available for rent in Oravi. Outside of the marked route there may be weak ice, so for beginners we recommend that you stick to the marked route.
