The surface ice of the route has frozen during the night, but where there was the most water on the ice, it is not yet frozen, it cracks a bit. Today it's cold all day, so all the time it freezes more and by Friday at the latest, you'll be able to skate well.

Today is good weather for skiing or hiking on the ice. In the morning, the traditional ski trail will be made from Oravi to Linnansaari, and you can walk along the winter hiking trail. On the skating track one can use kick sledges or mountain bikes (no skates today). Oravi's equipment rental is open from 9-17. EDIT. Close to Kielosaari there is a 100m of the track that has water on the ice, you can walk next to the side of the track on that particular part.

The sun is shining. The skating route and ski track from Oravi to Linnansaari is open. The pancake cafe on the island is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (longer if necessary). Tomorrow the weather will change again, so don't stay indoors today! In Restaurant Ruukinranta we bake pizza in the evening around 17:00-21:00 and the bar is open later. Welcome!

Today is a good day for skating, only 3m/s wind and the sun might peek through the clouds. The ice skating track is open from Oravi to Linnansaari, the route has a few uneven spots, so we recommend taking sticks for tour skaters. Oravi's equipment rental is open from 9-17. Tomorrow, on Saturday, Linnansaari's pancake café is open.

A heavy north storm brought water into storm banks in Savonselkä. The skating track has been opened up to Savonselkä hut (2,5 km/one way), we will inform you later if the skating track can be opened to Linnansaari. The traditional cross-country skiing track is also being made to Linnansaari in the morning. At the Savonselkä hut, you can enjoy your own snacks and for example fry sausages. You can pay the firewood fee (3€/person or 7€/family) at the Oravi reception or in the online store.
