The ice route from Oravi to Linnansaari is open and you can skate and cycle there. The ski track to the island is also open. Linnansaari's pancake cafe is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rental shop in Oravi is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The route to Linnansaari is about 5.5 km/way, i.e. the round-trip distance is 11 km. Halfway through the route, you can take a break at the hut on Savonselkä.

Today the sun is shining from a cloudless sky and it's a great day for outdoor activities. The skating track is open from Oravi to Linnansaari, the route has been plowed. There are some uneven parts on the ice along the track, but the track will be planed to make it smoother over the course of the day. We recommend a kick sledge. We got more snow and the ice is still thick and strong. Today, the traditional ski track has been prepared from Oravi to Linnansaari, and on Thursday morning the skating route will be plowed. Good frosts and no snow flurries now in the weather forecast for the weekend. The rental office and shop are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm.

The ice is uneven the first kilometer and after that smoother. It is easier to go with kick spark than skates. There is not much snow on the ice so skiing is not possible today. Tomorrow it is snowing again according to the weather forecast. The rental shop is open 9-17.

Now it's raining for a couple of days, so today and tomorrow there will be no skating or skiing on the ice. There is still a chance to get treally good skating ice here for the rest of the week when it freezes again, possibly the whole route can be opened during the week.
